  2. If I get your question, you asked if anyone has their boiler (for heat) and their electric water heater (for hot water) switched on at the same time. The answer would be yes. The two appliances are separate and do different jobs.

  3. some boilers have the capability to produce hot water. if you can do this then you can shut the electric hwhtr. if it doesnt do this then you must leave it on all year and the boiler only for heat.
