How do I clean our electric water boiler?

We have a small water boiler (electric kettle), which started to form some gross looking stuff in the bottom (on the heat element). I tried to wipe it out, but it doesn't work. It almost feels like some magnetic stuff. And the texture is kinda like sand/rock. Any idea on how to clean it?

the easiest way is to add a 1/4 cup of vinegar for each gallon of water and boil it. You can also use the cleaner called CLR but Vinegar is cheaper and releases lime deposits when boiled and cleaned out.

roughly how much should I expect to pay to fit a new electric boiler in a small flat in the UK?

  2. vinigar is best, MAKE SURE IT'S white vinigar! removes the yucky stuff. Also good if your shower head is getting clogged, and to run thru your coffee pot once a month

  3. What you have is a mineral build up which occurs naturally. One of the best ways to get rid of it is boiling white vinegar in it. or some hard water remover.
