Unfortunately the suprima is not an A rated boiler so you can not change it to this as it dose not meet the new emission laws now as its not a condensing boiler, not that you would want to as these boilers are very problematic. Go for a Valiant if you can afford it as these are about the best in the market.
References :
B G Engineer

My job entails fault finding and repairs. Over the years I have fixed thousands of boilers.

The Suprima was the main story on Watchdog a couple of years ago and for good reason. Potterton had serious problems with the printed circuit boards and they were failing for a pastime. I replaced many pcb's at a cost of £150 - £200 a time. Sometimes TWO on the same boiler in one year on several occasions.

I have found Potterton boilers in general to be fairly unreliable, and if I was buying a new boiler it would not be this manufacturers'.

If I were you I would save up and spend a little more and buy a Worcester or Vaillant. The extra cost would easily be recouped over the lifetime of the boiler because they are much more reliable and need less repairs. I have found these two manufacturers to be the best bar none.

Sometimes when you don't have much money to spare it may be wiser to be cautious, as buying too cheaply can be a bigger burden on your finances in the long run.
References :
Domestic gas heating engineer

We have a potterton prima f boiler...is there much difference between this and a potterton suprima?
I know nothing about boilers and current boiler needs replacing...we don't have much spare money so I was wondering if a suprima can replace my old boiler without much hassle and expense?
