Why does a gas combi boiler switch off if the water pressure drops too low?

My Gas combi boiler pressure gauge is below 1 and I cannot find how to fill it. I have someone coming to look at it in a few days. Is it dangerous for me to relight the pilot and keep the boiler operating while the pressure is below the minimum. Will it explode or something?

It won’t explode,it has too many safety switches.

Is low pressure on a gas boiler dangerous?
