Its either a defective gas valve or the flame rectification device or the air pressure switch.Needs diagnosing by a competent gas safe engineer.Boilers are no longer simple machines. They are as complicated as computers now.Hence the £65.00 per hr.fixing charges.Good luck.
References :
Hi on a lot of combi boilers, there is a preference for hot water. this means that the boiler will first fulfil a demand for hot water rather than run the heating. what happens is if the heating is on and the boiler running, as soon as the hot tap is opened the boiler will start to produce hot water.

to do this it will stop the heating cycle and refire the boiler.

the boiler will then refire when the hot water demand stops and it turns back to heating.

so basicly the more the hot water is used around the house the more it will restart.

it would be tough to give a diagnosis on this without more system information but this is just to let u know that the refiring can be completely normal.
References :
plumper

Please contact an Engineer and ask him for Identification! CORGI doesn't exist any more and he must be on the GAS SAFETY REGISTER. Please don't let anyone unqualified mess with any Gas Appliance, you are playing with your life!
References :
Me.

Check your boiler thermostat is set correctly, NOT THE ROOM Stat.
if your boiler is fed by a water tank, it can be that the supply tank has run dry, in which case the boiler will only heat the water in the boiler and shut down, then when the temperature of the water in the boiler has dropped a few degrees it will come back on and go through the same process.again.
References :
Plumber.
