Is this a decent way to go on a home heating system? Thanks in advance!?

Good morning all. Just moved into a new house(well previously owned) and need to replace the burner. I was aware of it. The rep. came buy and wants to install a 3 section PEERLESS cast iron boiler and a Storage 50 gallon H20 tank(John Wood). I reside here with the the wife and 3 kids. Yes, lots of showers. Anyway, any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I have the same situation. Had the furnace and indirect fired h/w heater installed. Best thing I could have done. Without the separate h/w heater, the furnace/boiler only has a few gallon reserve.

Prior to the new system, I had to put the heat on to heat up the baseboards so I could take a shower. Even in the summer.

My backflow valve is always dripping.?

It is a decent way but you can do better. Instead of putting in a cast iron boiler, put in a combi unit. They are more efficient and will save you money with a demand water heater. For more info see the boiler page at my source.
