What should be my oil fired boiler temperature settings be?
I need to know where to set my heating temperatures at on the boiler. I just had a new Peerless oilburner installed. Coiless tank, WBV 30 I believe. The thing firs up every five minutes. I see that the high limit is 180 and the low is 130 but the low differential is 10. Should the high be more like 160 and the LDF be at 30?
It depends on how the control is being used and how it is wired. Sometimes they don’t work like you may think they do.
Go to this page: http://customer.honeywell.com/Business/Cultures/en-US/Default.htm
On the bottom right of page, plug in the model # of the control (I’m assuming it is a L6081A) and hit search. You should find a PDF with instructions on your control. It may not be wired as a low limit circ control. It can be wired multiple ways.
Also, the circulator may be dirty and not moving the flow it should and causing the short cycling.
An incorrect setting on your wall thermostat heat anticipator will also cause short cycling (usually on mercury type)
